Cedar Removal on Edwards Aquifer Recharge Ground
The hill country west of Georgetown sits on the contributing and recharge zones that feed the Edwards Aquifer, and what grows on that ground affects how much rainfall gets underground. A mature Ashe juniper intercepts a real share of rainfall in its canopy before it ever reaches the soil, and draws heavily on what does land. Clearing juniper off recharge ground is among the better established land management practices in this part of Texas for improving infiltration. Landowners along the North and South San Gabriel who pull cedar off their uplands frequently report seeps and stock tanks holding longer into the summer within a few seasons of the work.
Commercial and Development Site Prep
Georgetown has been one of the faster growing cities in the country for several years running, and that growth eats raw land. Tracts that sat in pasture or ran cattle for generations are moving into commercial and residential development, and most of them need clearing before a survey crew can even read the ground.
